Residential care
At Little Oaks we offer full-time residential care in a safe, warm and homely environment for individuals who may require support with their daily living such as personal care and mobility or for those who just feel like they would like some companionship.
We understand that everyone is an individual with some needing more support than others. Prior to admission to the home we will complete an in-depth assessment, so we are able to tailor your care plan to meet your needs and wishes.
All support provided by the care team is based on respect, trust and compassion. We encourage residents to be part of our community here and join in with daily life/activities which contributes to their well-being and quality of life.
Respite care
At Little Oaks we offer residential and dementia respite care to individuals who may need some short-term care following a hospital stay, if family are going away on holiday or they would like a taste of care home living to enable them to plan for the future.
As a respite resident at Little Oaks, you will receive the same high standards of care as if you were a full-time resident, you will be encouraged to get involved with the daily life of the home and activities so you feel part of our community.
You will have support available 24 hours a day and have access to our inhouse physio during your stay.
Respite stays are subject to availability, a pre-admission assessment and are minimum of 1 week period.
Dementia care
At Little Oaks we support individuals that are living with memory loss, cognitive conditions and dementia. Within our residential home we also have a specialist dementia wing, ‘The Willows’
Our approach to dementia care is centred around relationships, trust and meaningful moments. We focus on really getting to know the person and the life they have lived, the little things they enjoy and what makes them smile.
The Willows is a small community where the environment is safe, calm and gently stimulating. There are a variety of themed areas that contribute to daily life so the residents have a sense of purpose which is an important part of dementia care. These include a quiet indoor garden area, an indoor courtyard complete with a washing line where laundry can be hung and an outdoor area that can be independently accessed with seating, flower baskets and bird feeders.
Professional Visits
We work in partnership with a wide range of professionals who regularly visit the home, collaborating closely with our care team to ensure the best possible outcomes for the individuals we support.
This includes a dedicated GP from our local practice who conducts weekly visits to review and monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, along with regular visits from the Community Nursing Team, who provide specialist treatment and clinical support to residents within the home.
A visiting chiropodist attends the home every 6-8 weeks to support residents with their foot care needs, promoting comfort and mobility.
We also have the benefit of our in-house physiotherapist Heather, who visits the home weekly, spending time to build relationships with the residents so she is able to holistically support their mobility, independence, and overall wellbeing.
