Your Home

At Little Oaks, our residents are at the heart of our home. As we are a small home, once settled in, our residents will personally know all the other residents, staff and owners.

Our philosophy is to create a warm and homely environment along with a truly individual and dignified experience for all our residents and their loved ones.

Our ethos at Little Oaks is “Our residents do not live in our workplace, we are privileged to work in their home

We are not part of a larger care organisation. The owners and manager will always be available and very happy to speak to you should you wish or need to contact us.

We would be delighted to have the opportunity to show you around Little Oaks, to tell you more about ourselves and the high standards of care we provide.

We wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at Little Oaks for such a joyful Summer Party on Saturday. We really appreciated all the time and effort you put into planning and hosting the event – congratulations to everyone involved! We particularly enjoyed the live music – it’s always so nice to see the residents joining in with all the old songs. Also special compliments to the Chef for the fabulous spread of food. Thanks again for such a great event.”

We, the three sons of Rita, would just like you to know that we are very grateful for the care our Mother received while at Little Oaks. Although she was only with you for 4 months, she could not have had a better end to her life. She was almost 96 and had had died one day before the Queen ,a happy coincidence. She had never suffered a serious illness in her life and passed away peacefully in her sleep -thank you to all your staff for being so caring and looking after her.

Just thought I’d say that my mum, Pat, is doing remarkably well and we are very happy for that - we can put that down to the care she has received, the right diet and regular drinks. Please pass on our thanks to everyone.

We would like to thank Little Oaks for making Ann’s 92nd birthday such a special occasion on Sunday. The staff were very kind and helpful, the decorations were very festive and many thanks to the chef for such a beautiful cake. It was lovely for our family to come in and celebrate with her in the conservatory.

Mum moved into Little Oaks at the end of January this year, having spent ten weeks in hospital following a minor stroke. I was very impressed with the speed mum moved in - from the initial look around the home and choosing the room, her assessment at the hospital, to her being discharged into the care of Little Oaks. It took mum some time to adjust to being in a care home after being so independent, but the caring staff soon made her feel at home. I think having some of her own furniture, family photos, and other personnel effects around the room helped her to settle in. Now, mum joins in with every activity and always says how lovely the staff are. When you walk in through the front door, it feels like you are entering a family home. All the staff are so friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. We are so grateful mum is in Little Oaks. The care and love for the residents and the dedication of the staff are second to none. Knowing that mum is well cared for and happy is very important to us.

Mum received exemplary care, both before and after change of ownership. She was “rescued” from hospital amazingly speedily just before the surge in infections and subsequent lockdowns from Autumn 2020, and so only experienced no, then restricted, visiting. Throughout this time every effort was made to maintain communication with the family. Once visiting opened up again and I was able to go in, I found it comfortable, clean and tidy, with no odours (in my profession I have visited many carehomes which the same cannot be said for) During her last few weeks when she needed a high level of care, this was provided sympathetically and efficiently - Mum was always clean and well cared for, as was her bed, so her last few weeks were peaceful. All the staff were very kind, and we found it reassuring that she was safe and comfortable.

We were so touched by Teresa and Brooke’s visit to see mum in the hospital. Please send them our deepest gratitude. Mum absolutely loved her room and view of the garden and we are all so appreciative that the last 3 years we know she has been cared for so kindly by all the staff. Please can you pass on our gratitude to everyone there at the home.

I just wanted to say what a lovely afternoon myself, my husband, my sister and her husband had with mum (Judy) in the conservatory yesterday afternoon for Mothering Sunday. It was the first time we had all been together since last October. We wanted to pass on our thanks to all your lovely care team who looked after us so well. We are so happy that mum is now living at Little Oaks. People are always quick to criticise but slow to praise where it's merited”
