It is the aim of the management of Little Oaks to provide a high standard of care at all times. All residents are to be treated as individuals, taking into consideration their privacy and confidentiality at all times. We encourage self-independence and give support and assistance when help is required. Ultimately we aim to provide a home from home environment for all in our care.

Social Activities

A large variety of activities are available on a regular basis. We encourage our residents to continue with their existing hobbies and if interested, try out new activities so that they can acquire new skills to enable greater stimulation throughout the day. This will lead to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement. These range from visits to the theatre and pantomimes to the celebration of birthdays. During the Summer, visits to the pub or garden centres are available when there is an interest.

Other activities include:
• Library Man visiting once a month
• Pat-A-Dog visits once a week
• Manicures are done weekly
• Games afternoons, Bingo, Board Games, Skittles etc
• Knitting parties
• Drives into the local countryside
• Painting
• Potting of winter bulbs and maintenance of easy care house plants
• Reminiscing sessions
• Keep Fit with qualified chair exercise instructor (once a fortnight)
• Church Service once a month

Care Information

Little Oaks specialises in elderly care, which ranges from the actively elderly to the mildly confused and a variety of physical illnesses.

Little Oaks can accommodate 19 elderly residents comfortably. We cater for both ladies and gentlemen in 15 single or 2 double rooms. We have the facility to accommodate wheelchair users in a choice of rooms on the ground floor. We have two chair lifts and one passenger lift to allow ease of movement.

The Home has a Non-Smoking policy.

Residents are encouraged to bring personal possessions with them to create a familiar environment and to decorate their own rooms to their liking. Small memorabilia and trinkets are a comfort and can stimulate chat in the early days.

Our rooms are very tastefully decorated, spacious and individual due to the residents being encouraged to bring their own furniture with them. The majority of our rooms have en-suite facilities.

Residents can choose who they do and do not see and their wishes will be respected.

If you have any questions, please do get in touch.
